In 2009, Vodafone Australia merged with Hutchison 3G (commonly known as the ‘3’ THREE brand) to become Vodafone Hutchison Australia Pty Ltd. (VHA)

This merger, adding on all of the ‘3’ customers to the Vodafone Australia network caused severe network congestion problems, with many angry customers. Vodafone Australia have responded with a major upgrade to their systems, with scheduled completion in 2013.
