Schooling in Australia
State Schools in Australia are considered to be basically free. There are however various “voluntary” contributions of maybe a few hundred dollars per year.
Schooling lasts for 13 years, from preparatory to senior secondary. School is compulsory until at least the age of 16. www.studyinaustralia.gov.au
In Australia in 2014, 65.1% of all students attended State schools, compared to 34.9% attending non-government schools. www.abs.gov.au/…/4221.0
